Seasonal Decor Updates-Fourth of July Table Centerpiece

Fourth of July Table Centerpiece

On this post Seasonal Decor Updates-Spring Kitchen I shared how I keep my basic table centerpiece updated for the seasons by changing just a few key elements.  It's a super simple and inexpensive way to change things up a little and keep your home decor fresh and fun.  Today I wanted to share my patriotic table centerpiece that I use for the Fourth of July.  All I had to do to give it a completely different look is change the branches in the white vase out for flags.  I added a small succulent for a little more color and texture and that was it.  Wasn't that simple?  I hope this inspires you to change things up a little now and then.  Just a little change can make a huge difference in the feel of your home.

I like to mix things up around the Hive every now and again and I feel like the changing seasons and holidays are the perfect opportunity to refresh my decor and update it with fun new pieces.  Today I'm sharing what I do in my kitchen for the spring season.

One of my favorite places to decorate seasonally is my dinning room table.  I usually stick with a few basics that are always in place, like the galvanized metal tray, the burlap runner, and my grandma's vintage cookbook. Then I like to add some seasonal or holiday accents.  To give you an idea of what I mean, here is my basic, everyday tablescape.

Here is how I changed it up for spring this year.  I just added the little birds nest and eggs, changed out the twigs for pussy willows and switched the salt and pepper shakers for little bunnies.  This was a super simple, and inexpensive update.

For this Christmas tablescape, I changed basically everything but the runner and tray.

Hopefully this gives you some inspiration for making some small seasonal changes in your home. It's easy to add a little something now and then and have a little fun with your everyday decor.

Fauxidermy

Fauxidermy

Fauxidermy:  Beautiful animal head sculptures man made out of a variety of materials including: resin, metal, cardboard, ceramic, paper mache, etc.

Fauxidermy or Faux Taxidermy has become a popular trend in interior design.  While I'm not a fan of Taxidermy, I love Fauxidermy and am so glad it's been sticking around for a while.  We were recently in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and saw a ton of beautiful uses of Fauxidermy.  I think its a great way to bring a modern vibe to a rustic space or a rustic vibe to a modern space.
